It’s time once again for spills, chills, and spectacular feats of daring as X Games 18 kick off in downtown Los Angeles in late June 2012.
This year, the Summer X Games are scheduled a month earlier than usual to make way for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
That means all the action begins begins on Thursday, June 28 continuing through the weekend until the big final on Sunday, July 1, 2012.
As usual, more than 200 athletes will compete in skateboarding, motocross, BMX, and rally car racing at traditional venues throughout Los Angeles including the STAPLES Center and Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE.
Watch for tickets for X Games 18 to officially go on sale in May 2011, available at all Ticketmaster locations and usually at the box office at the STAPLES Center. Fans should act fast, as many X Game tickets are snatched up at lightening speed, so ticket resellers become the vendor of choice for many.
Meanwhile, armchair athletes could look forward to more than 30 hours of live television programming on ABC, ESPN and ESPN2 during the four-day event (including 18 hours of 3D coverage this year) with additional broadcasting and/or live streaming on ESPN International, ESPN.com\action, ESPN Classic, ESPN3.com, and SportsCenter.
